Job Purpose:

To review and assess the effectiveness of Iemas's more complex processes, controls and practices, as well as related procedures and policies by which the Co-operative's financial, physical and information resources are managed in accordance with accepted professional standards to determine and assure compliance according to the yearly audit plans approved by the Audit Committee. Supervision of other auditors.

Job Outputs:

  • Implement the Audit plan as agreed with management and the audit committee
  • Develop and Implement Audit programs and procedures
  • Identify control weaknesses, and deviations from operating standards.
  • Communicate deviations to relevant stakeholders so that corrective action can be implemented
  • Compile audit report findings and ensure draft reports are reviewed before circulation
  • Prepare Audit Committee inserts and
  • Regular follow-up regarding material issues and recommendations
  • Supervise the work of junior auditors
  • Ensure delivery output from Co- source partner
  • Conduct forensic audits
  • Fraud prevention

Qualifications:

  • BCom Degree /BTech Accounting & Auditing / BTech Internal Audit
  • Computer Literacy MS Office Suite
  • Institute of Internal Auditors SA (IIASA) Membership
  • Professional Internal Auditor (PIA)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Code 8 driver€™s license

Experience:

  • 5 years€™ experience in auditing in financial services sector
  • 2-3 years forensic audit experience
  • Supervisory experience is an advantage

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Data analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English, strong verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to work on your own
  • Knowledge and compliance to Professional Code of Ethics in auditing
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management and internal controls
  • Excellent communication at all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to work alone, plan and execute projects with minimum supervision
