Institution of relevant legal proceedings against members for the collection of debt relating to secured and unsecured lending. Perform legal debt collection administration and tracing of members.
o Handover legal cases to debt collectors and attorneys
o Manage attorneys and debt collectors portfolios and arrange for payments
o Handle debt collectors and members queries
o Solve practical problems and deal effectively with members.
o Make arrangements with members for short fall
o Secure promise to pays
o Attend to routine correspondence with regards to collections or recovery issues.
o Maintain the computer based information system on all collection activities.
o Assist with the establishment of a panel of debt collectors and attorneys
o Report on portfolios
o Administer the repossession of vehicles and demands
o Liaise with valuators, tracers, sheriffs and lien holders.
o Handle legal collections queries and follow up of legal processes
o Manage progress on judgements
o Maintain internal and external relationships
Diploma in Debt Collection or Legal Administration
Minimum 3 years debt collection and/or legal administration experience in the financial services industry
Knowledge and Skills:
Computer literate (MS Office)
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory bodies

The ability to explain financial matters firmly and clearly
